I created the 12 cleanses in this book to awaken the spirit as much as the body and mind.

They’re mini retreats that pull you out of your daily routine so that you can examine what you’re consuming – and what’s consuming you – whether it’s the food you eat, the lifestyle you choose or the environment you’re living in. They give you a quick tune up as well as an opportunity to recalibrate and re-align with your internal guidance system.



What you eat has an effect on your body and mind.

So much of the food we choose to eat fogs our life force and weighs down the body in dis-ease. The effects are making headlines everyday. Rates of heart disease, diabetes and cancer are on the rise, prescriptions for medications to treat depression and anxiety are at record levels, two out of three American adults are overweight, the rate of autoimmune disease is growing, chronic fatigue syndrome is a new fixture in our country’s lexicon – and the list goes on and on. Fortunately, we can set ourselves free from low energy, stress, illness, obesity, addiction, depression and a host of other physical, emotional or spiritual ailments we might be facing. The path back to wellness is simple – we just need to take a step out of our usual routine to reassess and understand how food and lifestyles choices are shaping our health.



Doing a cleanse is the first step to a PLANT FORWARD DIET.

For over 25 years, I have been exploring the healing powers of food. Along the way, I had the privilege to work with many of the pioneers in the “food as medicine” movement. I cleansed, studied, cooked, sweat, prayed and meditated with holistic healers. I went out there looking for the “one answer” to naturally healing the body and found there isn’t one right way. Staying in balance and being healthy is an evolution, and we can each start where we are.
